Office Engineer
Office Engineer
The Office Engineer will work closely with the Resident Engineer and provide technical and administrative support to the project team. The Office Engineer ‘s duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Assist the Resident Engineer with daily field operations
- Field site inspections and documentation of construction activities
- Coordination with municipal client and contractors
- Recognize construction or engineering issues and communicate with Resident Engineer to resolve them effectively
Project Document Coordination
- Establish and maintain project record files and correspondence
- Assist with progress meeting agendas preparation and record minutes
- Review Inspector Reports for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and maintain project records including weekly and monthly project status reports
- Track project schedules and budgets as directed
Project Contracts
- Track and maintain all project plans and drawings
- Assist with coordination of change orders, RFI’s, submittals, and business communication
- Assist with contract claims and negotiations
- Review and process contractor’s submittal of shop and working drawings
Qualifications:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction; OSHA 10 Certification
5+ years experience in the engineering and construction industry.
Knowledge of construction management software a plus.
The ability to communicate effectively and take direction.
Project Controls Specialist
The Project Controls Specialist role is to provide project controls services and deliverables in support for various design & construction projects. He/She will provide cost analysis on budgets, detailed cost estimates utilizing cost estimating software and databases, manage and track contract progress and verify expenditures for projects as part of our owner project management services. He/She will develop detailed construction schedules per client and agency requirements. He/She will work with clients and other project stakeholders to track and validate project delivery tasks, including construction documents, commitment approvals, change requests and payment requests. Ensure work is being processed in the most efficient manner. Support project management staff with the development, maintenance and review of project baseline and update schedules and financial forecasts. Prepare reports on capital expenditures and utilization of funding sources. Provide technical assistance on the use of on-line project management software (e-Builder, SharePoint, ProCore). The Project Controls Specialist will assist the Leadership Team and Project Managers to handle a variety of project delivery tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide support in the development, maintenance and reviews of project estimates, schedules, budgets, change orders, financial forecasts and cash flows.
- Creating program/project reports for management review and submittals to clients.
- Preparation of monthly reports for leadership and various clients.
- Working with team members in a diplomatic manner to retrieve necessary data for reporting.
- Managing active project list to ensure detailed project status is maintained.
- Review project correspondence for accuracy and conformance to project delivery standards.
- Respond/request/follow-up as necessary to get additional information directly from clients/vendors/contractors.
- Managing in house project management system and input to ensure accuracy of data and conformance to project delivery standards.
- Initiating commitment approvals for design, construction, equipment and specialty consultant services.
Qualifications:
Civil engineering degree preferred, or bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in the design and construction industry. Must be a self-starter and have strong time management skills, and poses excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast pace environment. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and ability to learn new applications. Ability to work effectively as a team member and have the ability to work with all levels internally and externally. Experience with Sage Estimating, Primavera P6, MCACES, and OnScreen Takeoff a plus.
