OWNER’S PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The City of Woonsocket Education Department’s (WED) 5-Year Strategic Plan comprises renovations and upgrades to facilities at a total of ten elementary and two middle schools. Projects include construction of a new playground; renovation of a library; conversion of existing spaces to a fitness center, science lab, and theater classroom; roof, window, and ceiling replacement; MEP upgrades including boiler replacement and drainage work; and cleaning and brightening.

City Point Partners is coordinating with the WED and architect(s) to confirm the scope and budget for each project, develop project meeting minutes for the record, and review design documents. We have assisted and completed both Stage I and II submissions to the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) for the program fundings, which total $100 M of requested funds.

Project Description

The Town of Wayland is renovating an existing 12,000 SF underutilized, never-occupied municipal building to provide space for programs and services for the Council on Aging and activities and classes for the Recreation Department. Rooms will also be available for use by community organizations and Town meetings. The renovation consists of a full interior fit-out and complete envelope upgrade with an energy efficient design. New solar panel canopies will be installed above the 100-space parking lot and will supplement the power used by the building. The facility is located adjacent to the Sudbury River, Wayland Town Center, and Route 20.

As the Owner’s Project Manager, HDR | City Point Partners is overseeing the design, bidding, and construction of the renovation. We also provided a peer review of the architect’s cost estimate.

Project Description

What began as a short-term on-call assignment to help Northeastern complete a number of small “summer slammer” construction projects has grown into an 8-year partnership involving larger and more complicated projects.

City Point Partners’ project managers have helped Northeastern oversee many projects, including laboratory and classroom renovations and updates to campus infrastructure. Current projects include the replacement of chillers, emergency generators, switchgear, fire detection systems, and elevator cab equipment, and repairs to building envelopes. In addition to Northeastern’s primary campus in Boston, we have also managed projects on their Burlington and Nahant, MA campuses.

As the Owner’s Project Manager, HDR | City Point Partners is overseeing construction services for a new 24,000 sf Department of Public Works (DPW) facility.

The Town is changing the existing site to increase the separation between the DPW buildings and other Town-owned facilities adjacent to the site such as the Police Station and Water Department buildings.

HDR | City Point Partners oversaw the pre-construction, and is overseeing construction activities at the site; reviewing schedules, cost estimates and contractor’s schedule of values; providing project documentation, budget development, bid review, pre-inspection work for quality assurance; and scheduling inspections.

Project Description

Serving as the Owner’s Project Manager and On-Site Construction Representative, HDR | City Point Partners is overseeing the design and construction phases of this new public safety facility.

Consisting of both renovation and new construction, this project involves the reprogramming and renovation of a former preschool to a public safety building to provide the Fire Department with new office space, living quarters, and a training classroom area, as well as a new addition for an apparatus bay and a training tower.

Sections of the existing building will also be fitted out for a new Police Station including holding cells and a sally port.

Construction will be ongoing while the existing building is occupied.

HDR | City Point Partners oversaw the Chapter 149 procurement process and is providing reviews of the cost estimates and schedules provided by the architect and contractor.
